Howdy!

My name is Sarah Pierson. Since there are 4 Sara(h)s on this trip so far you can call me Pierson, or just P for short. 

I live, work, and play in Dallas, TX but drive over to Arlington for classes at UT-Arlington twice a week. I am a University Studies major which basically means I can take any upper-level class I want and they hand me a degree after I hit a certain number. I have a solid group of friends (pretty much family) all of whom are 2-8 years older than me (I'm 22) and already on their career paths. Needless to say, despite being a full-time student, I am not living out the typical college experience.

I work at Bed, Bath, and Beyond in the beyond section. I will most likely be getting a full-time job as a teacher’s aide in the fall as I take my last class needed for graduation. I can see myself as a high school history teacher but am really open to anywhere God leads.

A good deal of my free time goes into planning lessons or hanging out with a group of 8 high school girls for whom I co-lead a bible study through my church. I tell you what, if you want to strengthen your faith, lead some younger women who ask simple yet profound questions that keep you on your toes. Arguably the best part of my life right there.

I was born on the mission field in New Zealand where my parents led a church for 10 years. I have been back on trips twice with groups from my American church at the time.

The sex-trafficking phenomena hit news circles in Dallas with the Super Bowl coming to town. Apparently every year the Super Bowl brings an insane influx of trafficked women to town, not to mention the fact that Dallas, I learned, is already one of the major trafficking hubs in the United States. Did you know that according to the End Child Prostitution, Child Pornography and Trafficking (ECPAT) of Children for Sexual Purposes, around 100,000 U.S. children are forcefully engaged in prostitution or pornography each year? This monstrosity is occurring within our borders as well. I am looking for ways to get plugged in locally, but felt called outside of the country as well.

God has been relentlessly pursuing my heart over the past few years in an eye-opening way and I want that love to be felt by others. I want the women stuck in the sex-trade to know how deeply and profoundly they are loved by an awesome and mighty God. I am ready and willing to be used in any way that God chooses to help get His message of love to others.

Sorry this is uber long but I tried to answer all the questions on the rubric. Below (hopefully) is a picture of me and my ADORABLE niece who turned 1 in January.
